The Philosophy and Aims of Toad Hall Nursery School
To provide an attractive, homely environment in which children can
be introduced to school life.
To teach the children to be tolerant and understanding of the feelings
and needs of others.
To teach the children to develop responsibility and have an independent
attitude.
To enable the children to develop an awareness of right and wrong
and to differentiate between acceptable and unacceptable behaviour.
To teach the children to behave courteously and to have respect
for others.
To teach the children to contribute in a safe environment.
To teach the children to recognise other children’s achievements.
To give all children access to a structured syllabus working towards
the Early Learning Goals.
To enable all children to achieve the maximum possible for their
ability.
To enable this to take place the staff will:
· show respect for the children as individuals
· provide a well-ordered environment
· encourage and praise
· when needed, provide a reward system or a good conduct
chart
· promote a sense of belonging to the community
· act as a good role models
· support one another
